Introduction to Bomb Technicians

This chapter is a guide for physicians who are evaluating law enforcement bomb technicians and candidates in order to make medical qualification recommendations. It is assumed that these bomb technicians and candidates have meet the medical qualifications for patrol officers according to the guidance provided in other chapters of the ACOEM Guidance for the Medical Evaluation of Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs). This chapter provides additional medical qualifications (beyond medical qualifications of patrol officers) that police physicians should consider when evaluating law enforcement bomb technicians.
